I am in my senior year at GVSU, where I am an English, and Writing major, with a minor in Spanish. I am a student in the Frederik Meijer Honors College and work very diligently to help grow this community of dedicated scholars. I love my classes and love studying languages. Attended East Grand Rapids High School.
Experience
I love helping others learn, especially helping others learn about what I am passionate about. I volunteer and intern at the Creative Youth Center with middle school and highs school students, helping them with writing. It is the best part of my week. I worked at a summer camp this year with 7-12 year olds. It was an incredible experience to garden and farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. But what made it most worthwhile were the kids who had never been able to harvest wheat, or potatoes, or kale before coming to camp. I work on campus at GVSU in the Women's Center as a clerical assistant. I love working with incredible women and helping to create a safe environment on campus. I am the Vice President of an on-campus organization "English Society," which is basically just a club for nerds, where I teach my friends about literature and poetry. 32 on the ACT, 3.8 GPA at GVSU

Hobbies
I adore being outside and opening time in nature. I am always looking for the hidden "wildness" of the city. I love music and enjoy making songs with my friends. Musical theater was a large part of my life in high school and I miss it immensely. I adore cats! I started a "slam poetry team" at GVSU and we have competed nationally! I like rock climbing and roller blading. This summer I worked on a farm in North Carolina and learned how to milk cows.
